Rodney Stout – Pastor
Rodney comes originally from Orkney and spent his childhood growing up on the family farm. He is married to Janette and they have two grown up children, James who is married to Cat, and Judith who is married to Rick. They also have three grandchildren.
Rodney is one of ten children and he was brought along to church by Christian parents from childhood and committed his life to Christ when he was 10 years old. Having spent three years in the building trade after leaving school he went on work in a local power station for twelve years. Having sensed the call of God into full-time pastoral ministry he gave up a very satisfying career in the electricity supply industry to pursue theological studies when he was thirty-one.
His has served in Pastoral ministry in three Baptist churches in Scotland all in the central belt area, the most recent being Charlotte Baptist Chapel in Edinburgh where he was an associate pastor, with responsibility for the pastor care of the congregation for six years.
Having been approached by the elders and congregation of BBC in September 2011 he accepted a call to join them in ministry and was commissioned to the role of Senior Pastor in May 2012.
His personal aim in life as a disciple of Jesus is to know Him more and serve Him better. His pastoral ministry objective is to fulfill the Great Commission, and to equip the saints, by making disciples who can make disciples. As well as enjoying preaching and teaching God’s Word he is committed to mentoring other men in their walk and witness as followers of Jesus.
